Cursive LA

Various Parks, Los Angeles, CA
2025

Cursive LA is a functional artwork that celebrates the diversity of Los Angeles County’s communities. The benches’ interwoven strands symbolize the coming together of the many County neighborhoods, while the sculptural design invites a variety of playful seating arrangements. A pair of Cursive LA benches spells out L A in cursive letterforms.

This artwork is one of a series installed in parks throughout LA County, including Mona Park, George Washington Carver Park, Jesse Owens Community Regional Park and Enterprise Park.

Cursive LA is designed in collaboration with James Shen of People’s Architecture Office.
