How High the Moon

Installation
Various Parks, Tempe, AZ
2025

An interactive and illuminated installation inspired by the phases of the moon, How High the Moon was installed in seven different neighborhood parks in Tempe, Arizona.

Local residents shared their dreams by writing or drawing inside colorful ‘craters’ attached to the surfaces of the moons. Over the course of night, the installation became a collection of shared aspirations: winning a soccer game, world peace, owning a home, health and happiness for all.

How High the Moon offered a central rug for gathering and resting, surrounded by reflective and translucent orbs that invited playful interactions, and glow-in-the dark, community art-making.

The artwork was commissioned by Tempe City Arts for Arts in the Park 2025.
